WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 6, 2017 – Today, Delta Dental released a statement following approval of the Action for Dental Health Act of 2017 by the U.S. House of Representatives subcommittee on Health.
“Delta Dental strongly supports the Action For Dental Health Act of 2017. This legislation provides critical funding to address some of our nation’s most urgent oral health needs, including disparities in access to oral care in our communities,” said Jason Daughn, Vice President for Government Relations for Delta Dental. “Delta Dental stands in support of policies that provide quality oral care to all Americans.”
The bill would reauthorize Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) oral health promotion and disease prevention programs. It would also reauthorize Health Resources and Services Administration grants to states to support oral health workforce activities. These programs would be provided $18 million a year for each fiscal year, 2018 through 2022.
Delta Dental is dedicated to promoting oral health policies across the country and applauds the focus areas of these grants, as they touch on some of the nation’s most urgent oral health needs.
